After over 35 years of experience in product testing, we’ve identified a number of important boxes to check when providing expert reviews. We want to ensure that you have a great overall feel for the products displayed so that you can eliminate the guesswork in your purchases. For shower caddies, we’re testing for storage space/versatility, safety, and overall durability.
Storage Space – One of the most important reasons for having a shower caddy is to offer easy storage for your various grooming products. Can they hold soap, large bottles, hang loofahs, etc.? Look out for caddies that allow you to adjust the levels of shelving in order to accommodate bottles of varying sizes. All of these things should be kept in mind when choosing a caddy.
Safety – Overall safety should be a highly considered factor. Most caddies should come with a neck that goes over the shower head to support much of the weight, and suction cups should hold the caddy in place. Double check that the support and the suction cups are functioning properly before adding any products to it. This way, you can measure if it can stand the weight without falling or causing damage to your shower head.
Durability – Getting a caddy that is made from a moisture safe material is absolutely imperative. The last thing you want is something that rusts or weakens when exposed to water. If you go with a caddy that doubles as a storage bag, be sure to choose one that has sturdy straps for comfortable transportation.
